Mergers and acquisitions: easing the transition

After the legal and financial aspects of an acquisition or merger have been completed, companies often rely on "absorbing" the members of the merged or acquired company into their new corporate environment. The transition process is often haphazard, and the newly acquired workers can have a difficult time fitting in, and becoming productive quickly. Explicit, respectful attention to cultural differences on the part of the acquired workers and their original-organization coworkers can greatly ease the transition.
GLS's cultural inquiry method can be of great assistance in this task.
