A bold, shared vision, well-crafted goals, and a good roadmap for getting
there are invaluable to an organization. They cannot, of course, ensure
success. Success requires sound implementation of whatever strategy is
crafted. Execution is seldom a simple matter. The situation assumed in the
strategy can change. New people or groups have to be dealt with in the
customer or vendor organization. Resistance to change emerges among people
within the home organization. Relationships run into difficulty.
We believe that a systems perspective is extremely useful as a general guide in strategy implementation. An understanding of group and individual as well as organizational dynamics is also important, because such understanding can help shape specific tactical moves that make a difference.
